Breast cancer in young adults is different

  • 13,000 young adults receive a breast cancer diagnosis each year.

  • 250,000 people who were diagnosed before age 40 are living in the U.S. today.

  • They're often the youngest person in their oncologist's office and feel isolated among their peers.

  • They face early menopause, infertility, and negative impacts tot heir sexual health and body image.

  • Some are parenting young children while undergoing difficult treatments.

  • Their experience is different. Their support needs to be, too.

Young Survival Coalition (YSC)

  • Supports 14,000 young survivors and their caregiver support networks every year.

  • Coordinates 176 in-person and virtual networking groups to connect survivors to their peers.
