Ride Info

Atlanta

As Atlanta’s only bike ride for breast cancer, participants enjoy the opportunity to ride from 1 to 100 miles in the Northern suburbs.  The inaugural ride in 2009 saw over 350 registered riders and raised almost $150,000 for local programs. This year promises to be bigger and better, from short family rides and a survivor loop to professionally designed routes for the more expert cyclist.  Following the ride, riders and spectators will have a chance to mingle and explore our expo area, showcasing local services, vendors, food, entertainment and family fun.  Don’t ride?  Don’t worry!  This year we’ve added the opportunity to walk to support young survivors.  Don’t forget to find out how you can win a MINI Cooper when you ride or donate!

The Route

YSC Tour de Pink Atlanta is modeled after the major international racing tours without the stress of competition. Support, feed zones and general operations mirror those of the biggest races in the world. Since last year, we have tried different routes and destinations, and we have developed a great day of riding based on feedback from past participants.

The 2010 route maximizes safety and fun while maintaining the scenic aspects of the ride.

2010 maps have been posted. View them here.

Rider Services

Registered riders will be offered many services the day of YSC Tour de Pink Atlanta. For any questions about the ride prior to the event, contact us. Staff and volunteers will also be available the day of the ride to help you.

Mechanical Support

Our official bike shops will be available the day of the event for inspection and mechanical support. Tubes, clips and other products will be available for purchase. Be sure to carry spare tubes and pumps in case of a flat. In addition, YSC Tour de Pink Atlanta and our shops will offer inspection clinics beginning in September. Be sure to have your bike inspected before the ride. Check our calendar for more details.

Support and Gear (SAG)

SAG vans will be on the routes to ensure your safety and provide transportation for riders who need a lift to the next rest stop. SAGs only move riders forward on a route and may sometimes pick a rider up if they are not keeping pace with finishing the ride.

Motorcycle Teams

Motos, along with SAG vehicles and occasional police support will be on the route to respond to traffic and emergency situations.

Medical

Medical personnel will be on hand to assist with medical emergencies. First aid volunteers will also be available at the start/finish and rest areas. If you have any medical conditions that require prescriptions, please carry those medications with you.

Food and Beverage

Nutritious snacks and beverages will be provided along the route at each rest stop. In addition, lunch will be provided on route for those riding through the day. Our expo area will also have food and beverage available for participants as they wait for others to finish. Supporters will be able to purchase lunch, snacks and beverage at the expo area. If you have specific dietary preferences or needs please be sure to carry what you need.
